Restore Windows 11 Cloud Backup During Initial Setup
Restoring your cloud backup during the initial setup of a new Windows 11 computer allows you to seamlessly transfer your desktop preferences, settings, credentials, and pinned applications from an old device. By signing in with your Microsoft account during the Out-of-Box Experience (OOBE), Windows Backup automatically detects your saved profiles, letting you pick up right where you left off with minimal manual configuration.
Prerequisites Before You Begin
- Ensure your previous PC was backed up using the Windows Backup app to your OneDrive/Microsoft account.
- Have your Microsoft account email and password ready.
- Ensure your new device is connected to a reliable internet connection (Wi-Fi or Ethernet).
