How to View Family Activity Reports on Windows 11
Monitoring your family’s digital habits is essential for maintaining safe and healthy device usage. This guide provides a straightforward walkthrough on how to enable and view weekly activity reports for your family members in Windows 11 using Microsoft Family Safety, allowing you to monitor screen time, app usage, and web browsing activity.
Step 1: Set Up Microsoft Family Safety
To receive activity reports, the family member’s Windows 11 account must be connected to your Microsoft Family group as a child account.
- Open Settings on Windows 11

Windows Key + I). - Go to Accounts > Family.
- Ensure the family member is listed. If not, click Add someone to invite their Microsoft account to your family group.
Step 2: Enable Activity Reporting
Activity logging must be turned on to generate reports.
- Visit the Microsoft Family Safety website

family.microsoft.com) and sign in with your organizer account. - Select the family member whose activity you want to track.
- In the left menu, select Overview or Activity.
- Scroll to Activity settings and turn on the toggle for Activity reporting.
- Enable the toggle for Email weekly reports to me to receive automatic summaries every week.
Step 3: View the Weekly Activity Reports
You can view the activity data through two methods:
Method A: Via Email
Once enabled, Microsoft automatically sends an email summary at the end of each week to your organizer email address. This report includes total screen time, most-used applications, and top visited websites.
Method B: Via the Microsoft Family Safety Dashboard
You do not have to wait for the weekly email to check current progress.
- Log in to
family.microsoft.com. - Click on the family member’s profile.
- Review the dashboard categories:
- Screen time: View daily and weekly hours spent across Windows 11 devices and Xbox consoles.
- Apps and games: See which programs were launched and how much time was spent on each.
- Web and search: Review searches made via Microsoft Edge and sites visited or blocked.
