How to Take Photos and Scan Barcodes in Windows 11

The built-in Camera app in Windows 11 is a versatile tool that allows users to quickly capture photos, record videos, and scan barcodes or QR codes without needing third-party software. This guide covers how to set up your camera permissions, take photos using standard and advanced settings, and use the integrated scanning features to read codes instantly using your device’s webcam.

Opening the Camera App

  1. Press the Windows Key on your keyboard or click the Start button.
  2. Type Camera into the search bar and select the Camera application from the results.
  3. If prompted, grant the app permission to access your camera and microphone by navigating to Settings > Privacy & security > Camera and toggling the permissions to On.

How to Capture Photos
