How to Set Up a VPN in Windows 11

Setting up a Virtual Private Network (VPN) in Windows 11 allows you to secure your internet connection, protect sensitive data, and access private network resources remotely. Prerequisites

Before starting, ensure you have the following information from your network administrator or VPN service provider: * VPN Provider: Typically “Windows (built-in)”. * Connection Name: A friendly name of your choice (e.g., “Work VPN”). * Server Name or Address: The domain name (e.g., vpn.example.com) or IP address of the VPN server. * VPN Type: The protocol used (e.g., IKEv2, SSTP, L2TP/IPsec with pre-shared key, or Automatic). * Sign-in Info: The method used to authenticate (Username and password, Smart card, Certificate, or One-time password) along with your credentials.

Step 1: Open VPN Settings

1. Press Windows Key + I to open the Settings app.
2. In the left sidebar, click Network & internet.
3. Select VPN from the menu on the right.

Step 2: Add a VPN Connection

1. Click the Add VPN button located at the top of the window.
