How to Insert Symbols and GIFs in Windows 11
The Windows 11 Emoji Panel is a built-in tool that allows you to quickly insert standard emojis, animated GIFs, kaomoji, and special characters into any text field. By using a simple keyboard shortcut, you can access an extensive library of symbols and media without needing to copy and paste them from external websites or memorize complex Alt codes.
How to Open the Emoji Panel
- Click on any text field, document, or app where you want to insert a character (e.g., Word, browser search bar, Notepad, or a chat app).
- Press Windows Key + . (period) or Windows Key + ; (semicolon) on your keyboard.
- The Emoji Panel pop-up will appear directly above or near your cursor.
How to Insert Special Characters and Symbols
The symbol section includes punctuation marks, currency symbols, mathematical operators, accented letters, and geometric shapes.
- Open the Emoji Panel (Windows Key + .).
- Click the Symbols icon (represented by the Greek letter Omega Ω) located in the top navigation bar.
- Select a category from the bottom navigation strip, such as:
