How to Disable Windows 11 Lock Screen Tips

Windows 11 frequently displays trivia, advertisements, tips, and search suggestions on the lock screen. This guide provides a straightforward method to disable these lock screen tips and fun facts using the built-in Windows Settings menu, allowing you to maintain a clean, distraction-free display.

Steps to Turn Off Lock Screen Tips in Windows 11

  1. Open Settings: Press Windows Key + I on your keyboard, or click the Start button and select the Settings gear icon.
  2. Navigate to Lock Screen Settings: In the left sidebar, click on Personalization, then select Lock screen from the right-hand panel.
  3. Change the Background Type: Locate the Personalize your lock screen dropdown menu. If it is set to Windows spotlight, you cannot disable tips. Change this setting to either Picture or Slideshow.
  4. Disable Tips and Tricks: Once Picture or Slideshow is selected, a new option will appear below it labeled Get fun facts, tips, tricks, and more on your lock screen. Uncheck the box next to this option.

Once unchecked, Windows 11 will immediately stop displaying suggestions, facts, and promotional content on your lock screen.
