How to Convert Units in Windows 11 Calculator

Accessing the Converter Modes

To use any converter in Windows 11, you must first switch the calculator mode:

  1. Open the Calculator app from the Start menu or by pressing Win + S and typing Calculator.
  2. Click the Navigation Menu (the three horizontal lines or “hamburger” icon) in the top-left corner.
  3. Scroll down to the Converter section to find Currency, Volume, Temperature, and other measurement categories.

How to Convert Currency

  1. Click the Navigation Menu and select Currency.
  2. Select your base currency using the drop-down menu on the top field.
  3. Select your target currency using the drop-down menu on the bottom field.

  1. Click the Navigation Menu and select Temperature.
  2. Set the top unit to your starting scale (Fahrenheit, Celsius, or Kelvin).
  3. Set the bottom unit to your desired target scale.
