How to Change Mouse Pointer Size and Color

Windows 11 includes built-in accessibility options that make resizing and recoloring your pointer simple.

  1. Press Windows Key + I to open the Settings app.
  2. Select Accessibility from the left-hand navigation pane.
  3. In the Vision section, click on Mouse pointer and touch.
  4. Use the Size slider to increase or decrease the size of your cursor in real time (from 1 to 15).
  5. Choose a style under the Mouse pointer style section:
    • White: The default solid white pointer with a black border.

How to Enable Mouse Pointer Trails

  2. Go to Bluetooth & devices and select Mouse.
  3. Scroll down and click on Additional mouse settings under the Related settings section. This opens the Mouse Properties dialog box.
  4. Click on the Pointer Options tab.
  5. Under the Visibility section, check the box for Display pointer trails.
  6. Adjust the slider between Short and Long to set the desired trail length.
  7. Click Apply, then OK to save your changes.

How to Enable the Pointer Location Indicator

If you frequently lose track of your cursor on the screen, you can enable a circular visual indicator that appears whenever you tap the Ctrl key.

  1. In the same Mouse Properties window (accessed via Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Mouse > Additional mouse settings), navigate to the Pointer Options tab.
  2. Under the Visibility section, check the box labeled Show location of pointer when I press the CTRL key.
  3. Click Apply and OK.
