VOB (Video Object) files are container formats based on the MPEG-2 Program Stream specification, explicitly designed for DVD-Video media. Any file authored to compliant DVD-Video specifications cannot exceed this dimension. Attempting to encode a VOB file at high-definition resolutions (such as 1280 × 720 or 1920 × 1080) violates standard DVD authoring rules and will cause playback failure on standard DVD players.
