Any VOB file intended for standard DVD authoring and hardware playback must adhere to this 448 kbps ceiling to ensure compatibility.
Standard Bitrate Allocations by Channel Layout
Audio engineers typically allocate bitrates based on the number of audio channels in the AC-3 stream:

- Stereo (2.0): 192 kbps to 224 kbps
- Surround Sound (5.1): 384 kbps to 448 kbps
