Is There an Official Tor Browser for iOS?

Apple does not allow an official version of the Tor Browser on iOS devices such as the iPhone and iPad. Why There Is No Official Tor Browser on iOS

While it is the best available option for browsing the dark web (.onion sites) and anonymizing traffic on an iPhone, it is not a direct equivalent to the official Tor Browser on other platforms.

Limitations of iOS Tor Solutions

Users should be aware of the security trade-offs when using Tor-based tools on iOS:

• WebKit Constraints: Because Onion Browser must rely on Apple’s WebKit engine, it cannot offer the same level of browser-fingerprinting defense as the official desktop or Android versions.

Beware of Fake Tor Apps

The Apple App Store contains numerous third-party applications claiming to offer Tor access. Many of these apps are paid subscription scams, poorly maintained, or contain trackers that directly undermine user privacy. When seeking Tor connectivity on iOS, users should exclusively use Onion Browser or Orbot to ensure their software is open-source and trusted by the privacy community.
