How to Filter and Search Your Safari Reading List

Filtering and Searching on a Mac

To manage your Reading List in Safari on macOS, you first need to open the Reading List sidebar.

  1. Open the Safari browser.
  2. Click the Sidebar icon in the top-left corner of the window.
  3. Select Reading List (the eyeglasses icon) from the menu options.

How to Show Only Unread Articles: At the top of the Reading List sidebar, there is a toggle switch. Click Unread to filter out articles you have already finished. To see your entire list again, simply click All. If you do not see this toggle, scroll to the very top of the Reading List and pull down slightly to reveal it.

How to Search Saved Titles: Right above the All/Unread toggle at the top of the Reading List sidebar, you will find a search bar. Click into the Search field and type the words from the title or topic you are looking for. Safari will automatically filter your list in real-time to match your query.
