How to Change Apple Pay Shipping and Billing in Safari
This article provides a straightforward guide on how to change your default billing card and shipping address directly within the Apple Pay payment sheet while shopping in the Safari web browser. Whether you are using an iPhone, iPad, or Mac, you can easily update your payment and delivery details right before confirming a purchase, ensuring your order is billed and shipped to the correct locations without leaving the checkout page.
Changing the Billing Card and Billing Address
When the Apple Pay payment sheet appears on your screen in Safari, it automatically displays your default payment card. To use a different card or update the billing address for the transaction, follow these steps:
- Tap or click the Apple Pay button at checkout in Safari to bring up the payment sheet.
- Tap or click the arrow (chevron) located on the right side of your default payment card.
- Select a different payment card from your saved Wallet list, or select Add a New Card to input a new payment method.
- If you need to update the billing address associated with the card, look for the Billing Address option within this same card details menu. Tap or click it, then select an existing address or enter a new one.
- Tap the Back button or click outside the menu to return to the main payment sheet.
Changing the Shipping Address
Below the payment card information on the Apple Pay sheet, you will see the shipping address and contact information that will be shared with the merchant. To modify where your order will be sent:
- In the open Apple Pay payment sheet, locate the Shipping or Address section.
- Tap or click the arrow (chevron) next to the currently displayed shipping address.
- Choose an alternative address from the list of locations saved to your Apple ID and Contacts.
- If you need to send the order to a brand-new location, select Enter New Shipping Address (on iOS/iPadOS) or Add Address (on macOS) at the bottom of the list.
- Type in the new recipient name and street address, then tap Done or click Save to return to the main payment sheet.
Managing Permanent Defaults
When you add or select a new shipping address inside the Safari Apple Pay sheet, Apple Pay saves that information and often automatically sets the most recently used shipping address as the new default for your next online purchase.
However, changing your billing card inside the Safari payment sheet only applies to that specific transaction. If you want to permanently change the default card or default shipping information that appears first in the Safari payment sheet, you must do so in your device settings:
- On iPhone or iPad: Open Settings, tap Wallet & Apple Pay, scroll down to the Transaction Defaults section, and tap Default Card or Shipping Address to make your permanent selections.
- On Mac: Open System Settings (or System Preferences), click Wallet & Apple Pay, and change the selections in the Default Card and Shipping Address dropdown menus.
