OBS Hotkey to Disable Webcam Filters
This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to configure a custom hotkey in OBS Studio to temporarily disable and enable all video filters on a specific webcam source simultaneously. By utilizing OBS Studio’s built-in hotkey settings, you can control multiple filters at once without the need for external plugins or scripts.
Step 1: Set Up Your Webcam Filters
Before configuring the hotkey, ensure that your webcam source has the desired filters applied.
- Open OBS Studio.
- Right-click your webcam source in the Sources dock and select Filters.
- Add or configure the filters you wish to use (e.g., Color Correction, Chroma Key, or LUTs).
- Close the Filters window.
Step 2: Access the Hotkeys Menu
OBS Studio allows you to map specific keyboard shortcuts to individual source filters.
- Click on Settings in the bottom-right corner of OBS Studio (or go to File > Settings).
- Select the Hotkeys tab from the left-hand sidebar.
Step 3: Map the Hotkey to Your Filters
To disable all filters on your webcam at the same time, you must assign the exact same key combination to the toggle action of each individual filter.
- Use the search bar at the top of the Hotkeys menu to search for the name of your webcam source.
- Scroll down to your webcam source section. You will see listing entries for each filter applied to that source.
- Locate the Toggle [Filter Name] field for your first filter.
- Click inside the field and press your desired hotkey combination
(for example,
Ctrl + Shift + F). - Repeat this process for every other filter listed under that webcam
source, assigning the exact same hotkey
(
Ctrl + Shift + F) to each filter’s “Toggle” action.
Step 4: Save and Test
- Click Apply and then OK to save your settings.
- Return to your main OBS Studio screen.
- Press your configured hotkey. All filters on your webcam source will turn off instantly. Press the hotkey again to re-enable them.
