Keep OBS Stats Dock Always on Top on Second Monitor
Monitoring your stream’s performance is crucial for content creators, and keeping the OBS Studio stats dock visible on a secondary monitor ensures you never miss a dropped frame or bitrate spike. This guide provides a straightforward, step-by-step walkthrough on how to enable the “Always on Top” feature for your OBS Studio stats dock so it remains visible even when you are playing games on your primary screen.
Step 1: Open the Stats Dock in OBS Studio
If you do not already have the Stats dock visible, you need to enable it within OBS Studio: 1. Open OBS Studio. 2. Click on the Docks menu located in the top menu bar. 3. Select Stats from the drop-down menu. The Stats window will appear on your screen.
Step 2: Undock the Stats Window
To move the Stats dock freely to another monitor, you must undock it from the main OBS user interface: 1. Click and hold the title bar of the Stats dock. 2. Drag it away from the main OBS Studio window until it becomes a separate, free-floating window. 3. Drag the floating Stats window over to your secondary gaming monitor.
Step 3: Enable the “Always on Top” Toggle
Once the Stats window is positioned on your secondary monitor, you need to pin it so other applications do not cover it: 1. Right-click on the title bar of the floating Stats window. 2. In the context menu that appears, click on Always on Top to enable it (a checkmark will appear next to it).
Once enabled, the Stats dock will remain pinned on top of any other windows, browser tabs, or applications running on your secondary monitor, allowing you to monitor stream health, FPS, and CPU usage in real-time while you play.
