How to Stream 320kbps Audio in OBS Studio
High-quality audio is essential for a professional livestreaming experience. This guide provides a step-by-step walkthrough on how to configure the advanced output settings in OBS Studio to stream your audio at a crisp 320kbps bitrate. You will learn how to switch your output mode, adjust the audio track settings, and ensure your stream delivers the best possible sound quality to your audience.
Step 1: Open OBS Studio Settings
- Launch OBS Studio.
- In the bottom-right corner of the screen, click on Settings (or navigate to File > Settings in the top menu).
Step 2: Switch to Advanced Output Mode
- In the Settings window, select the Output tab from the left-hand sidebar.
- At the top of the Output settings page, locate the Output Mode dropdown menu.
- Change the Output Mode from Simple to Advanced. This unlocks additional configuration tabs, including Streaming, Recording, and Audio.
Step 3: Configure the Audio Bitrate
- Within the Output section, click on the Audio tab (located next to the Streaming and Recording tabs).
- You will see configuration options for different audio tracks (Track 1 through Track 6).
- Locate Track 1 (the default track used for streaming).
- Click the dropdown menu next to Audio Bitrate and select 320.
- Optional: If you use multiple audio tracks for split-track streaming or recording, change the bitrate to 320 for those tracks as well.
Step 4: Verify Streaming Track Assignment
- Click back onto the Streaming tab within the Output section.
- Look for the Audio Track setting. Ensure that the checkbox for Track 1 (or the track you configured to 320kbps in the previous step) is selected.
- Ensure your Audio Encoder is set to the default AAC encoder (such as CoreAudio AAC or FFmpeg AAC) to support the high bitrate.
Step 5: Save Your Changes
- Click the Apply button in the bottom-right corner of the Settings window.
- Click OK to close the window and return to the main OBS Studio interface.
Your OBS Studio is now configured to stream your broadcast audio at a high-fidelity 320kbps bitrate.
