LibreOffice Impress Slide Sounds and Loop Options

LibreOffice Impress provides several audio and playback settings to enhance multimedia presentations, including built-in transition sounds, custom audio integration, and automated presentation looping. Users can assign specific audio cues to slide transitions, configure sounds to repeat continuously, or set the entire slide deck to run on an automatic, endless loop for kiosks and displays.

Slide Transition Sound Options

Transition sounds play automatically when a slide appears on the screen. These settings are managed via the Slide Transition panel in the right-hand sidebar.

Audio Loop Settings for Transitions

Under the same Slide Transition sidebar panel, Impress includes a specific option for audio continuity:

Presentation Loop and Auto-Repeat Settings

To loop the entire presentation continuously rather than just individual sounds, Impress includes presentation playback controls:

  1. Go to the top menu and select Slide Show > Slide Show Settings…
  2. Under the Presentation Mode section, select Loop and repeat after:.
  3. Set the duration for the pause between loops (e.g., 00:00:00 for an immediate restart).
  4. Optionally, check Show logo to display the LibreOffice logo during the pause interval between presentation cycles.
