How to Hide Slides in LibreOffice Impress
Hiding slides in LibreOffice Impress allows you to keep non-essential, reference, or backup information in your deck without displaying it to your audience during a slideshow. This guide provides clear, step-by-step instructions on how to quickly hide and unhide specific slides using the Slide Pane and the main application menu without permanently deleting any content.
Method 1: Using the Slide Pane (Recommended)
- Open your presentation in LibreOffice Impress.
- Locate the Slides Pane on the left side of the window. If the pane is not visible, enable it by going to View > Slide Pane.
- Right-click the slide you want to exclude from the presentation. To
select multiple slides, hold down
Ctrl(orCmdon macOS) while clicking the desired slides, then right-click. - Select Hide Slide from the context menu.
Once hidden, the slide’s thumbnail number will appear with a diagonal line through it, or the thumbnail will appear dimmed, indicating that it is skipped during the slideshow.
Method 2: Using the Main Menu
- Select the slide you want to hide from the Slides Pane.
- Click on the Slide menu in the top toolbar.
- Click Hide Slide.
How to Unhide a Slide
To make a hidden slide visible in your presentation again:
- Right-click the hidden slide in the Slides Pane (or select it and open the Slide menu at the top).
- Click Show Slide (which replaces the “Hide Slide” option for hidden slides).
The indicator on the slide thumbnail will disappear, and the slide will once again be included in your presentation sequence.
