Converting all footnotes to endnotes in LibreOffice Writer is a quick and automated process that eliminates the need to manually re-enter your citations. This guide covers the built-in configuration settings that instantly reposition your reference notes from the bottom of individual pages to the very end of your document.

Steps to Convert Footnotes to Endnotes

1. Open the Footnotes and Endnotes Settings
   • Open your document in LibreOffice Writer.
   • Click on Tools in the top menu bar.
   • Select Footnotes and Endnotes… from the dropdown menu.
2. Change the Footnote Position
   • In the dialog window that appears, make sure you are on the Footnotes tab.
   • Locate the Position section near the bottom of the tab.
   • Open the dropdown menu next to Position (which is set to Bottom of page by default).
   • Select End of document.
3. Adjust Numbering (Optional)
   • While still in the Footnotes tab, look at the Numbering section.
   • If you want continuous numbering throughout the whole document, ensure Counting is set to Per document.
   • Choose your preferred numbering style (e.g., 1, 2, 3… or i, ii, iii…).
4. Apply the Changes
   • Click the OK button at the bottom right of the dialog window.
