Import SVG into Kdenlive Title Clip
This article provides a quick, step-by-step guide on how to directly import Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) into a Kdenlive title composition. You will learn how to open the Titler tool, load your vector files, and position them correctly within your video project.
Step 1: Open the Title Clip Editor
To begin, you need to create a new title clip or edit an existing one: 1. Go to the Project Bin in Kdenlive. 2. Right-click on an empty space and select Add Title Clip. 3. If you already have a title clip on your timeline or in your bin, double-click it to open the editor.
Step 2: Add the SVG Graphic
The Kdenlive Titler allows you to import external graphics directly into the composition: 1. In the toolbar at the top of the Title Clip editor window, click the Add Image button (the icon resembles a picture frame). 2. A file browser window will appear. Navigate to the folder where your SVG file is saved. 3. Select the SVG file and click Open.
Step 3: Adjust and Scale the SVG
Once the SVG is loaded into the workspace, you can customize its appearance: * Position: Click and drag the SVG graphic to place it anywhere on the canvas. * Size: Click on the graphic and drag the corner handles to resize it. Because SVG is a vector format, the graphic will scale up or down without losing sharpness or pixelating. * Alignment: Use the alignment tools on the right-hand panel to quickly center the graphic horizontally or vertically.
Step 4: Save and Apply
After positioning your graphic, complete the process to apply it to your video: 1. Click Create Title (or Update Title if you are editing an existing one) in the bottom right corner of the window. 2. Drag the completed title clip from your Project Bin onto a video track in your timeline.
