How to Use Halftone Effect in Kdenlive

This guide demonstrates how to apply and customize the Halftone visual effect in Kdenlive to give your videos a stylized, retro comic-book print appearance. You will learn where to find the effect, how to adjust its parameters for the best look, and how to combine it with other filters to maximize the pop-art aesthetic.

Step 1: Add Your Video to the Timeline

1. Launch Kdenlive and import your video footage into the Project Bin.
2. Drag and drop the video clip onto the timeline where you want to apply the effect.

Step 2: Locate and Apply the Halftone Effect

1. Open the Effects tab (if you do not see it, go to the top menu and select View > Effects).
2. In the search bar of the Effects panel, type Halftone.
3. Drag the Halftone effect from the list and drop it directly onto your video clip in the timeline.
