How to Create a Typewriter Effect in Kdenlive

Step 1: Create a New Title Clip

To begin, you need to generate a text layer where your typewriter effect will be applied.

  1. Open your Kdenlive project.
  2. Go to the Project Bin on the left side of the screen.
  3. Right-click in an empty space within the Project Bin and select Add Title Clip (or click the arrow next to the “Add Clip” icon and choose “Add Title Clip”).

Step 2: Add and Format Your Text

Once the Title Clip editor window opens, you can write and style your text.

  1. Click the Add Text button (represented by a “T” icon) at the top of the editor window.
