This article provides a quick, step-by-step guide on how to change the background of a title clip in Kdenlive from its default transparent state to a solid color. By adjusting the background settings directly within the Title Clip editor, you can easily customize your text slides and graphics without the need to layer a separate color clip underneath your text.
To change the background of your Kdenlive title clip to a solid color, follow these steps:
Step 1: Open the Title Clip Editor
- If you already have a title clip, double-click it in the Project Bin or on your timeline to open the editor.
- If you are creating a new one, right-click in the Project Bin area and select Add Title Clip.
Step 2: Access the Background Settings
- In the Title Clip window, look at the tool settings panel on the right side.
- Locate the Background option. By default, this is set to transparent (often indicated by a checkered pattern or an alpha value of 0).
Step 3: Change the Opacity and Color
- Click on the background color box to open the color selection dialog.
- To make the background solid, change the Alpha channel
(A) value from
0(fully transparent) to255(fully opaque). - Choose your desired solid color from the color palette or enter a specific HTML hex code.
- Click OK to apply the color.
Step 4: Save the Changes
- Once you are satisfied with the solid background color, click the Update Title (or Create Title if it is a new clip) button at the bottom right of the window.
Your title clip will now display the solid background color instead of being transparent on your video timeline.
