How to Add Copyright Metadata in Kdenlive

Adding metadata to your video files is crucial for protecting your intellectual property and establishing ownership. This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to embed author and copyright metadata directly into your Kdenlive project settings before rendering, ensuring your credentials are baked into the final video file.

To configure metadata in Kdenlive, follow these steps:

Step 1: Open Project Settings

Launch Kdenlive and open your project. In the top menu bar, click on Project and select Project Settings from the dropdown menu.

Step 2: Access the Metadata Tab

In the Project Settings dialog window, click on the Metadata tab. This tab displays a list of standard metadata keys that can be embedded into your video file.

Within the Metadata tab, you can input your creator details: * Locate the author key, click in the Value column next to it, and type your name or your organization’s name. * Locate the copyright key, click in the value field, and enter your copyright statement (for example: Copyright © 2024 Your Name.
