Generate Color Bars and Test Tone in Kdenlive

Step 1: Access the Generators Menu

To create these utility clips, you must use the Project Bin interface in Kdenlive:

  1. Open your Kdenlive project.
  2. Locate the Project Bin tab (usually in the top-left corner).
  3. Click the Add Clip or Folder dropdown arrow (the small arrow next to the plus icon).
  4. Hover your mouse over Generators to reveal the submenu.

Step 2: Generate Video Color Bars

Standard SMPTE color bars are used to calibrate video monitors and verify color accuracy.

  1. In the Generators submenu, click on Color Bars.
