Customize Kdenlive Toolbar Icons

Kdenlive is a powerful open-source video editor that offers extensive interface customization options to streamline your editing workflow. This guide provides a straightforward, step-by-step walkthrough on how to customize and change the specific icons used in the Kdenlive toolbar menus to match your visual preferences and improve accessibility.

Step 1: Open the Toolbar Configuration Dialog

To begin customizing your interface, launch Kdenlive and access the toolbar settings: 1. Click on Settings in the top menu bar. 2. Select Configure Toolbars… from the dropdown menu. This will open a new configuration window.

Step 2: Select the Toolbar You Want to Modify

At the top of the “Configure Toolbars” window, you will see a dropdown menu labeled Toolbar. 1. Click the dropdown to select the specific toolbar you want to customize (such as the Main Toolbar or the Timeline Toolbar). 2. The window will display two columns: Available actions on the left and Current actions on the right.

Step 3: Change the Icon of a Toolbar Action

Once you have selected the target toolbar, you can change the icon for any active command: 1. In the Current actions list on the right, click on the specific action or tool whose icon you want to change. 2. Click the Change Icon button (which typically displays the current icon for that action). 3. A search and selection dialog will appear, displaying the available system and Qt icons. 4.
