Modern digital cameras offer a simultaneous "RAW + JPEG" shooting mode to give photographers immediate access to ready-to-share photos alongside the uncompressed data required for professional editing. While the JPEG provides a processed, lightweight file that can be instantly delivered or uploaded, the RAW file acts as a digital negative that preserves all captured sensor information for post-processing. Instant Delivery with Maximum Flexibility
The primary reason to capture both formats is balancing immediate needs with long-term quality. A JPEG is automatically sharpened, color-corrected, and compressed inside the camera. It is ready for immediate transfer to a smartphone, client, or social media platform without any editing.
Conversely, RAW files cannot be viewed on most standard devices without specialized software.
