Finding the right number of unchoked peers is essential for maximizing BitTorrent performance on a residential internet connection.   3. Calculate Global Limits: If your total allocated upload bandwidth is 1 MB/s (1,000 KB/s), setting a global limit of 20 unchoked peers ensures an average of 50 KB/s per slot.
