The AVIF (AV1 Image File Format) adoption curve across global web properties follows a classic multi-phase technology adoption lifecycle, transitioning from early technical integration toward widespread enterprise utility. While browser support has largely achieved critical mass, widespread web deployment is currently throttled by computational encoding overhead and infrastructure lag.
