How to Zoom Horizontally and Vertically in Audacity

Navigating audio waveforms accurately in Audacity requires mastering both horizontal zooming (adjusting the time scale) and vertical zooming (adjusting the amplitude or track height). Horizontal Zooming (Time Scale)

Horizontal zooming expands or compresses the timeline, allowing you to inspect individual audio samples or view the entire project at once.

Using Mouse and Scroll Wheel Shortcuts

• Zoom In: Hold Ctrl (or Cmd on macOS) and scroll the mouse wheel up.
• Zoom Out: Hold Ctrl (or Cmd on macOS) and scroll the mouse wheel down.
