How to Create a Tremolo Pulsing Effect in Audacity
Creating a rhythmic volume pulsing effect in Audacity is a straightforward way to add movement, tension, and dynamic rhythm to flat audio tracks like synthesizer pads, guitars, or vocal layers. This guide explains how to apply and configure the built-in Tremolo effect to produce continuous volume pulses, synchronize the rate to your project's tempo, and choose between smooth modulation and choppy, gated effects.
Step 1: Select the Audio Track
- Open your project in Audacity and locate the track you want to modify.
- Use the Selection Tool (
F1) to highlight the specific portion of the track where you want the volume pulse to occur, or double-click the track to select the entire waveform.
Step 2: Open the Tremolo Plugin
- Click on the Effect menu in the top toolbar.
- Navigate to Modulation (or scroll directly down the list in older Audacity versions) and select Tremolo.
Step 3: Configure the Pulse Settings
